In the next five to seven years, the Filipino-owned food company Jollibee Foods Corp. plans to open several new locations in Canada and the USA.  On August 18th 2022, JFC inaugurated its first New York City flagship location in Times Square, expanding the company’s footprint in the city.

The new store is the brand’s fourth site in New York, and hundreds of fans began lining up as early as 8:30 p.m. the day before to welcome the Jollibee Menu with great enthusiasm.

Here are the crowd favorites in the Jollibee USA menu.

Chickenjoy

Chickenjoy is unquestionably the star of the Jollibee menu in the USA. If you think KFC’s fried chicken is the best fast food fried chicken, get ready to have your world turned upside down. In addition to being the greatest thing at Jollibee, this chicken is among the best things you can have at any restaurant.

Chickenjoy is essentially the Filipino equivalent of KFC’s fried chicken buckets. It’s quite tasty. The chicken is served hot, with a nicely battered coating that provides a crunch and keeps the meat moist and tender. It’s perfectly seasoned and cooked through, unlike some fried chicken joints. You can taste the quality of the ingredients in the silky and delicious gravy that comes with the chicken. The name says it all: ChickenJoy is certain to bring you joy.

Peach Mango Pie

It’s only fair that Jollibee’s peach mango pie be as famous as it is. It’s not just Jollibee’s best dessert—it’s the finest fast food pie ever. If you like the apple pie from McDonald’s, you’ll enjoy this.

Mangoes and peaches, as the name suggests, are the stars of this delightful dessert. Each bite will be a delicious combination of peach and mango pieces. However, there’s more to this pie’s brilliance than just the fruit. The superb crust is likewise astoundingly wonderful. You’ll have a hard time deciding which you like more: the peaches, the mangoes, or the crust.

No trip to Jollibee is complete without purchasing a piece of their famous peach mango pie. It is that tasty.

Aloha Yumburger

Yumburgers, in their standard form, are relatively tiny and unimpressive. On the other side, the Aloha Yumburger is a standout. It’s a large, vibrant meal that’s packed to the brim with delicious ingredients. You won’t want to go back to the initial version once you’ve upgraded to this one.

The Aloha Yumburger starts with two beef patties, a piece of cheese, and then some fresh lettuce within a bun. Slices of bacon, a pineapple ring, and a honey mustard-like condiment called Aloha Dressing from Jollibee kick off the party and turn it into a full-fledged luau. While there may be a lot going on in this sandwich, each component complements the other beautifully. It’s unusual to encounter a fast food item with such a harmonious equilibrium of sweet, savory, sour, and salty flavors.

When you’re finished with your Aloha Yumburger, you’ll be completely satisfied and beaming from ear to ear with joy.

Fiesta Noodles

The Palabok Fiesta is Jollibee’s most daring meal, yet it’s worth the risk to any diner. Typical fast-food eaters in the United States could be put off by the dish’s “complex” sound and “intimidating” appearance, but they’d be missing out.

Perfectly cooked rice noodles are the base of Palabok Fiesta. Jollibee serves their noodle dishes topped with sautéed pork, egg pieces, and shrimp, and then the dish is finished off with a delicious garlic sauce.

While many items on the Jollibee menu aren’t exactly authentic, the Palabok Fiesta comes as near as any American fast food restaurant to serve genuine Filipino cuisine. The combination of shrimp and hard-boiled eggs may not seem like it would work, but trust us – it does.

Jolly Spaghetti

You will either dislike or enjoy Jollibee’s Jolly Spaghetti. When it comes to this dish, there is no room for hedging. After a few bites, you’ll know for sure if you are in the first or second type.

The spaghetti here isn’t like what you’d get at a typical Italian restaurant, so keep that in mind when placing your order. While the noodles may be identical, every other aspect is different. One, it’s important to note that the sauce has an extraordinary amount of sugar. Two, you won’t find any traditional meatballs here. In their stead, we have ham bits, ground pork, and hot dog pieces in our Jolly Spaghetti. Yes, your pasta will contain pieces of hot dogs. You should give Jollibee’s Jolly Spaghetti a fair go before passing judgment. Though it may sound bizarre, there is a possibility that you may come to enjoy this dish.

Jollibee Breakfast Menu in the US

Jollibee Breakfast hours in the US are Monday through Friday, between open and close, but only until the afternoon on the weekends. Here are some of the crowd pleasers in the Jollibee Breakfast Menu in the US.

Breakfast Chickenjoy

Are you really surprised that this is the tastiest breakfast option at Jollibee? Fried chicken, gravy, garlic rice, and an egg—what more could you want for breakfast? This breakfast plate has everything you might want for a full morning meal, and everything goes well together.

Corned Beef

We really enjoy the canned variety of corned beef dotted with chunks of cubed potatoes, which can be fantastic. This one is evocative of that with its slivers of soft-cooked onions mingling with the juicy, salty meat. This, plus some garlic rice (and maybe an egg), would make a fantastic breakfast.

Sweet Pork

Jollibee’s sweet pork breakfast resembles lap cheong, or Chinese sausage. The Filipinos give this cured pork another name: tocino. The pork has the texture of jerky, yet the flavor of the sweet, sticky marinade pairs wonderfully with the savory undertones of the garlic rice. For finishing touches, it comes with a fried egg.

Pork Sausage

Also available at Jollibee for breakfast, this dish features two split sausages, garlic rice, and a hard-cooked egg. This meat is juicy, salty, and reminiscent of kielbasa. The menu calls it a hot dog, but it looks remarkably like a take on longanisa, the traditional Filipino morning sausage. What more could you want for breakfast than this plate of sausage, eggs, and rice?

Beef Tenders

This morning favorite consists of bite-sized slices of seasoned beef on a pile of garlic rice and an egg. Although the beef tenders can be oversalted and tough, the accompanying garlic rice was delicious. It was hearty, but the flavor was not for everyone, so it might not be a go-to breakfast choice. Having said that, it’s certainly worth a genuine go.

Difference Between Jollibee in the Philippines and the US

Jollibee maintains a menu comparable to its locations in the United States and the Philippines. As was said before, the Jollibee menu in the United States includes most of the same items as the menu in the Philippines, with the notable exception of the Chicken Tenders.

Another striking contrast that, despite its seeming minutia, is very intriguing. While the words “Chickenjoy” and “Jolly Spaghetti” sound perfectly delectable when spoken in English, the term “palabok” is completely unknown to Americans (who are not Filipino-Americans). Thus, “palabok” is amusingly referred to as “Fiesta Noodles” in the US.

Beef Tenders, Corned Beef, Sweet Pork, and Pork Sausage have all taken the place of the revered SILOGs traditionally served for breakfast in the Philippines. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, “silog” refers to “sinangag at itlog,” which translates to “garlic rice and egg.” For example, “hotsilog” combines garlic rice, hotdogs, and eggs.

The Jollibee Breakfast Menu in the United States still comes with the traditional accompaniments of an egg, a slice of tomato, and a hearty scoop of garlic rice. However, what exactly is a silog if it isn’t called a silog?

The absence of authentic longganisa lends the breakfast menu an air of unfinished business. There is no valid justification for this because anyone can purchase sweet and spicy sausage in the United States at almost every Film-Am grocery store or Asian market. Since people in the United States already have a strong affinity for sausages worldwide, introducing them to this slice of Filipino cuisine would be one of the simpler tasks.

Free refills is also a thing in Jollibee Menu in the US, as it is with most of the country, but in the Philippine branches, you only get one drink per meal ordered.

Here are some of the main differences between the bestsellers in the Jollibee Menu in the US and the Philippines:

Chickenjoy in the Philippines vs US

The Chickenjoy in the Jollibee menu in the US is bigger – not just the chicken piece, but the gravy serving is also more than what’s usually served in Philippine locations. The US Chickenjoy also tends to be crispier and saltier, but both are juicy and delicious.

Jolly Spaghetti in the Philippines vs US

Being the crowd favorite in the Philippines, it’s nice to know that Filipinos in the USA can get a similar taste to what they would have gotten back home. The only notable difference is the hotdog slices. The US version of the Jolly Spaghetti has firmer hotdogs, while the PH Jolly Spaghetti has softer ones. Additionally, while the US spaghetti gets more sauce, the sauce in the Philippines is superior.

Peach Mango Pie in the Philippines vs US

The Peach Mango Pie in the Jollibee Menu in the US and the Philippines are definitely same in taste, texture, crunch and joy-delivery capabilities. The only stark difference is the size availability. In the US, the Peach Mango Pie only comes in one size while in the Philippines, Jolly-goers can get either a regular or large sized version.

Fiesta Noodles in the Philippines vs US

As mentioned above, the apparent name change from Palabok is one of the differences. Additionally, the Fiesta Noodles//Palabok meal in the Philippines comes with a piece of calamansi, while the US version comes with a slice of lemon. Other than that, the taste, ingredients, and presentation are similar.

Yumburger / Aloha Yum in the Philippines vs US

Like the other items here in the list, there is no glaring difference between the presentation and taste. However, one observations is that the patties are made from different ground beef and the US version can be slightly thicker than the Philippine version.
